Well, where do I start? Australia is a very large country with varying climates, things to do and places to see. It all depends on what you like doing and what you are interested in seeing. It is impossible for you to see everything that this country has to offer. If you like beaches, then anywhere along the East Coast or West Coast have amazing beaches. If you want to see historical places in Australia, then Hobart, Sydney and Melbourne are great for this. If you want to see some of the Outback, then Adelaide, Alice Springs and Darwin are great cities to fly into to see these things. We also have alpine areas which have lots of snow. These areas are found in the south eastern corner of New South Wales and the north eastern corner of Victoria. If you want to see famous Australian landmarks, then Ayers Rock (Uluru) in Northern Territory, The Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, The Blue Mountains in New South Wales near Sydney, The Great Ocean Road in Victoria and Cradle Mountain in Tasmania are awesome places to visit. I live on the Gold Coast in South East Queensland which has many things to offer as it is a very popular tourist destination.

No - sorry! Bill's not going to tell you all about Sydney & Melbourne, because Bill's in Queensland & is very interested in promoting every aspect of it to anyone who will stay around long enough to listen! Again, Hiccup is really good with Melbourne (he lives not that far away), though Bill grew up in Victoria & I've been there a few times myself. If you want a good feel of the place & people, get involved in some of Hiccup's discussions he has started here: http://www.mylot.com/hiccup/discussions?t=start

I have no idea about recommending hotels in Sydney or Melbourne as there are so many and I have only ever stayed in a couple in Sydney. One was the Novatel Century Sydney which was right next to Darling Harbour. It was a good hotel in a great location to see the city. I am not a fan of Sydney though as it is too busy for my liking. I also prefer caravan parks and camping to hotels, but if you like hotels, then that is OK as it is your trip. For history in Australia, I would visit Hobart in the state of Tasmania over Sydney or Melbourne as it has lots of convict history, but Sydney was the first place settled by whites in Australia, so it has plenty of historical sites too. "The Rocks" area at the foot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge is one area that I remember being historical. In Melbourne, there is The Old Melbourne Gaol and Captain Cook's Cottage which are significant historical sites. Plus there are many old churches and buildings which are old in Australian standards, but not so old when compared to Indian buildings I am guessing. I agree with Veganbliss. Have a look through Hiccups discussions.

Ah - here's part of the problem... you haven't been looking at all the postings - try here too: http://www.mylot.com/w/lists/16_56077/default.aspx I need further input from you to help you further in this. What exactly do you want to see & experience? What do you want to achieve while here? Are you here to work as well or just sight-see? You can learn a lot from very experienced travelers like so: http://www.mylot.com/maximax8 Maybe if you went through all of the links I've been giving you (& others) in these recently attended topics by you, you will be able to ask more specific questions & people can help you better?

I still like Australia just like you. I love to live and work in Australia. I like the vast country and the job opportunity that country has to offer to a foreigner. It also have an easy immigration policy for migrant. Australia and Canada are by far the most welcoming countries in the world. They are very hospitable to foreigners and there are less discrimination or racial abuse of foreign worker. I do not know much about the place to stay or visit but I want to tell you that I love to live and work in Australia

i know this sounds kind of stupid but ever since i watch that movie kangaroo jack a long time ago i have wanted to travel to australia the landscape is what got to me in that movie i thought it was all just so beautiful and i would love to go see all the unique wildlife that australia holds i could just go see all the animals in a zoo somewhere but nothing beats seeing them in their actual habitat but going on a big trip like that over seas costs alot of money and it is going to take alot of saving up for me to be able to go
