The currently known resources of oil could last up to around next 50 years. Provided there are no new resources found where will we end up. What about giant automotive companies and all the vehicles which we have made ? Have you thought about it? Please share your views.

They say that there's a lot of oil deposits in the Spratly Islands. Depending on who is talking, the whole area may be called Western Philippines or South China Sea. It is reputed to contain the second largest deposit in the world. Perhaps that's the reason why there is tension there among various countries. If true, the oil will give us a lease of another 50 years or so. But after that, what? Government leaders earlier thought that nuclear energy was the hands down alternative. But the ongoing crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant is giving them second thoughts. As a matter of fact, Germany has decided to go for renewable energy. She is well suited to the pioneering role. She has resources, organization, engineering prowess, Research and Development infrastructure, etc. to succeed and even exceed her targets. How about automotive companies and vehicles that are fossil fuel dependent? Well... They can adapt and evolve, or remain as is and go the way of the dinosaur. But don't worry. Being profit-motivated, if they see that renewable energy gives them a fatter bottom line, they will be faster at the race than you and me.

Solar power... Its going to be a major source of energy in near future. Besides China has already started making its citizens accustomed to the use of solar power for domestic use. Nuclear power is another major source of large scale power production. Thats not the major problem. The biggest issue is what are we going to do with our "now of no use" cars and other vehicles. Perhaps convert them to solar power operated vehicles.

I think our supply of crude oil is decreasing day by day. But demand is increasing. So price is also increasing. So scientists are trying to find out alternatives for crude oil. So I think before the extinction of oil from earth we will find some alternatives. We are not in a position to panic. We will find something and I am very optimistic. Happy myLotting.
