C U L T U R A L Function - sharing....

OK - I am here to explain to you . Since cultures vary from place to place it becomes curious to know as everything seems new. I wanted to create a new version of sharing the cultural functions held at our place and this is my first one.But an amazed to note that no one is interested tio come forwrd to go through the discussion. [b] I appreciate your interest and hence designed a photo in general for every one who follow this discussion to view it and enjoy the place of the function held at the very famous monument of Hyderabad the - Charminar.[/b] Here are some selected photos amongst the 50 photo I have.. Hope, seeing this may attract some to go through the discussion and know about the rich culture we are following and enjouying till today. Bonalu is an important festival in Hyderabad and Secunderabad in the month of Ashada ( July - August) Bonalu means "food" a ritual in honor of Mother Goddess - Mahankali.The ritual consists of an offering of food made by women which is later shared by all the family and relatives,friends as "PRASAD". The festival is a month long affair which starts at the Famous historical place Golkonda,and is followed in the third week at the magnetic place of Hyderabad - Charminar (the most beautiful monument). The origin of Bonalu festival is during the epidemic of plague in 1869 in Hyderabad and Secunderabad,which killed several people. It is a strong belief that the epidemic was the result of the anger of Mother Goddess. It is then that this Bonalu ritual started to ward-off the anger of teh Goddess....
