head safety

My son is about to turn two and bless his heart, has inherited his fathers clumsiness. He is at a point where he runs around a lot and incidently, falls quite a bit. Now most of it has been harmless up to this point, a few scratches but nothing too bad. Until yesterday. He decided to jump or more like dive off the couch and hit his head on a toy. It left a big scratch and a small bruise, but he was still wanting to jump all around. Then he decided to jump in the kitchen(i honestly don't know what he was thinking) and head butted a barstool. That left a bigger bruise but he still wanted to run and play after getting over the shock of what happened. After letting him know he can't do these things, he still wants to run and just act unsafe. I know he's a baby but I don't want him to get hurt. How many concussions can a kid have? So we've resorted to buying a helmet.lol its the only thing we can think of that will give us peace of mind while he's out of sight for two seconds. Have any of you had a problem like this and how did u handle it?

i think buying him a safety helmet is a good thing. like your son, mom says m brother was really everywhere when he was a kid. he would run all over and if my mom tried taking a nap for 15 minutes, h wouldn't be there. she says it was really tiring to take care of my brother as a kid. but i'm sorry i don't know how mom handled it :D She just takes out this topic at times of family gathering and which leaves my brother totally embarassed
