While doing a little checking out on MyLot. I noticed a username which got me to thinking about my scars and how I got them, and how I feel about them. I have about 7 scars someone could easily notice when looking at me. Well 3 of them can be hidden under a shirt seeing as they are on the front of my body. I honestly hate them. Some people have said I should be proud of the 2 that are on my front side. One about 10-11 inches long going down my stomach, and the other a 2-3 inch scar beside my right nipple. Those 2 scars came from an accident I was in during 2000. Spleen ruptured, blood was in stomach cavity, so had to gut me like a fish I guess, and lung collapsed which explains the scar near my nipple. The 3rd front scar is less noticeable seeing as it happened when I was a kid, and brother dared me to light my shirt on fire... yeah I was really young and didn't know better, but he did tell me the lighter would not work at all. This one goes across my stomach, and in a weird way, the long scar and the burn scar, make a upside down cross on my stomach. The rest are just small results from mishaps in life. So do you have any scars? How do you feel about them? In simple I just do not like mine to be honest.

I'm a skin-picker, especially in the past ten years, but I'm slowly getting out of the habit, but I am embarrassed, as I got scars on my face and my back and one big one on my leg. Oh, and I have one nice scar for my c-sections for both kids (one scar, the surgeon cut the scar from my 1st child and sewed up after my 2nd child.) I don't mind that scar, but the others - well, they were self-inflicted, but hopefully I can get some stuff to help remedy that problem.

Sorry to hear, but yeah I too know the pain of picking at those. I do hope they can clear up for you soon. Yeah the c-section at least isn't a bad scar, it at least has something very proud attached to it's memory.

hello shawnbob! i bet no one like to be hurt and wounded but then this scars we have can turn us into a different person in the present time. don't you believe that? it just how we accept the fact that we are wounded and have saved from such incident in our lives. it just left us a lesson in a way. it's also up to us how we live after the scar developed. hmmm...a cross sign as a scar? i bet it's a unique one. don't feel to bad about those scars cause no matter how you see it, it's still there and it will always be a part of you. it's like a saying, if it rains, be ready to have a shade on and if you can't find something to shade on, just enjoy the rain cause if you don't, the rain will eat you. i forgot the last line, i'm so sorry for that. but it sounds like it. just like in scars, we have it already in our body. it's already a part of us. no matter how we see it, it will not be removed. just live with it. i also have a scar. well, i have accidents in my life i will never forget. there was one on my head, left side near my forehead.just glad that it is covered with my hair. i have stitch on that and hair doesn't grow anymore since 1997 when the accident happened. i also have on my knees though it's not that bad. i have a sister who had been to an accident just last year. she had been thrown from a jeepney. because it was too fast like a roller coaster ride. she didn't manage to hold on the rails so since she was seated in the first row of the jeepney, she stumbled down and rolled off the road. luckily there was no vehicle after the jeepney she was in. but then she had so many scars now. she felt sad about it of course. luckily she has no scar on the face. same as you do, she doesn't like it. cause when people see it, they slowly turn to your face, wondering what happened to your scars. but then, we told her at least you are a survivor! don't feel too bad about it!

I have scars too and I hate them too. I have scars because of our dogs, they want to play sometimes and their nails are too sharp and wounded me. I have scars on my leg, and on my stomach too. Its so annoying but what can I do. Sometimes I get so depressed and I get angry of the dogs. But it wont take away the scars either, I am planning to ask surgery for these, but it wont take up until next year. For now I have to deal with the ugly scars.

Woah, sorry to hear about yours, and especially the fact they were caused by your dogs. If they aren't deep, I was informed rubbing Vitamin C cream can help them fade. It just won't work too good on mine seeing the fact that mine is pretty wide compared to a normal (stitched up) type scar. They did internal stitches on my scar and let the part of the stitches were it tied together poke out beside my belly button. They also left most of the scar open because they said at my age it should heal nicely. Best part I can remember, was having to go to the hospital to get my scar scraped and cleaned. That thing itched like everything. Funny thing though. First night home with my scar in the shape it was. I was so doped up, I ended up trying to ease the itching by laying in a tub of water. Bad part of this was... I had the water too hot and cooked the outer edges of my scar. Had to be rushed to our family doctor who told my dad to take me to the emergency room.

I have scar also on my left knee, I got it from learning on how to ride a bike when I was in elementary, but I think theres nothing to be ashamed of if you have scars, sometimes its something you'd be proud of,coz from that scars we've learned somethings in life and our knowledge increases.

I wish I could have learned more from this set of scars. Hmmm, maybe I did, idk. Luckily I haven't gotten a scar from a bike i do not remember. But I have chipped my front tooth when I was younger in an attempt to do a ollie (basic jump) on a skateboard lol.

Glad to hear you feel such a way. Just the worst part for me about my scars, the main 2 being pretty good size. I find it very hard to just ignore them.

Was it a car accident? I hope you are alright today I am curious. If you see that particular username, do you or have you been avoiding to type it? Is it a general word?

Well its great to know your not shy about showing your scars. I'm not a whole lot shy on showing my scar, but I mean even with a un-perfect body, you just will not catch me walking shirtless much.
