I just had one. I remember watching something on television that's it's good to eat banana especially in the morning, makes you lose weight or something, has anyone tried it, and did it work? I don't plan on losing weight, it's just something I saw first when I got up. Good morning!

I just saw this topic and really had to answer, I"m not sure about the weight loss aspect of eating a banana in the morning, but I do know it's very healthy to eat fruit with your cereal/porridge. I myself chop up bananas into my cereal, plus I add a small handful of walnuts/almonds/pecans to my cereal, and some raisins if I have any. The nuts are bound to help lose weight, for sure, plus you're getting all 4 food groups (from the CAnada Food Guide) in a meal which is essential for weight management. My doctor told me that last tidbit of information. It'll also help if you eat your banana with a whole-wheat based cereal, instead of just any old cereal made with white flour. All-Bran bran flakes are excellent for fibre.

Here in my country, It's not very common to eat cereal in the morning. I think we have the thinking that's its only for children. I eat oatmeal when I feel like it though. Filipinos are very fond of rice, rice in the morning, rice in the afternoon, and in the evening. We even have rice cakes for snacks.

Ah okay, I didn't realise that, sounds interesting, though. What's your typical "Breakfast rice" dish that's eaten in the Philipines?

In our household, we are used to fried rice with a lot of garlic. Then any fried fish, or mixed vegetables dish. My fave is the chocolate-flavored porridge we call champorado. It's made with sticky rice, cocoa powder, water and sugar. Mine has milk ans milk powder on top. Lots.

I have heard that banana breakfast is a good way of losing weight. Bananas are low in calories and fat and have a high water content and potassium levels that can help reduce water weight.

I just had one now, and I plan to eat another one. Eating any fruits for breakfast is in fact a healthy habit. I like to eat an assortment of fruits for my breakfast by the way. I have 2 bananas, 2 slices of watermelon, a slice of pineapple, and 4 slices of papaya for my breakfast today. I know it cleanses my body and surely gives me the vitamins and minerals I need. It also makes my body alkaline and thus healthy, our body cells suffer or die when the body is acidic. If one wants to lose weight, eating fruits and vegetables would do it. There is this DVD entitled "Eating" by Mike Anderson which shows the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables, it is really about going vegan. Even if one does not intend to be one, the DVD is worth watching.

making a banana a part of your meals is good for the health, since it can add up more on potassium,.. that's what i believe in that is why i always eat one per day.
