I tried posting this before and didn't get a chance to copy it before my speed crashed as is typical when posting. But, here goes again. The second litter of gerbils is about a week old now. I'm not sure how many she had as I found one dead baby today and there are 5 in the nest. 3 are black and 2 are gray. The previous litter only had one gray baby. My boss and I have been joking that Gerri has been messing around behind Tom's back, but we both know it's not possible. It's hard to believe that we have 13 gerbils, I would never have thought that this would happen when we picked up Tom and Gerri. When I go to find homes for the first litter, or even the second litter, I might try to find a home for Tom as well, but I'm not sure yet. I might just pair him up with one of the male babies in another tank. Only time will tell I guess.

Wow you sure have a lot of them and sounds like they are all doing well. Great job here and sounds like the pet business is right your area.

I would put all the males into a separate tank until you can find a home for them. Have you taken the first litter out of the cage with the mother yet? Do you know how many are male and female? I would start putting soft food in with the babies by the time they are 3-4 weeks old so they get the idea of eating solid food. From what I had read, the first litter should have been weaned long before the second litter was born. I hope that you are able to find homes for all the babies soon. Have a great week!!!
