Tatoos love them or hate them?

I love my tattoos and my husbands. However, sometimes I see others tattoos and think "what were you thinking?!!!" this usually happens when I see people who get tattoos without any thought to it. The person who gets tatoos just to be getting them. Or someone who doesn't gets a tattoo done by an artist who shouldn't even be a tattoo artist! Trust me I've seen some that look like a 4 year old tattooed them!
When I get my tatooes I think long and hard. Is this something I can live with forever? Does this tattoo represent something to me? And then for good measure I let my husband take a sharpie marker and draw it on me. Silly I know but I can gt an idea of what it would look like. Plus the sharpie lasts a few days so I can see if I'd get tired of looking at potential tattoo.
So far I have three. My first I got when I was 18. Me and my best friend was having a "day of firsts" we tried sushi for the first time. Then decided on tattoos. I got a small symbol on the small of my bike. It was a voodoo love symbol. It's not exact because I let artist change it a little. It kind of looks like a heart anchor. Hard to explain. When I got married my husband had starrs up the length of his arm. So I got 9 stars on my chest. That tattoo connects the both of us. When my first child was born I got a tatoo for him. He was born on Easter so I got my fave artist Junko mizuno's skull bunny tattooed on my wrist. I love my tattoos.

I love the tats that my husband has but I would never get one. I am terrified of needles, I am the biggest baby when it comes to them. Lol. I have seen some people's where I was thinking the same thing, that doesn't look too good or why would you get that on yourself?
My husband has meaningful ones like his grandma's name, my name and a cross. I love them. =)

It's funny because I hate medical needles but a tatoo needle seems to be diffrent for me. Sometimes I look away but sometimes I like watching the artist work on me.

I am thinking about getting a tatoo but I Am not sure. If I were to get a tattoo it would be a few stars, one with the confederate flag, another with camoflauge on it. I'm still considering it, I would get them on my wrist, but I think it'd become controversial... so I may get it on a more... obscure part of my body. Maybe my leg.

That's another thing to think about when getting tatoos! Most jobs frown on tatoos so you need to make sure you can "hide" a tatoo if need be.

i would love to have one. i surely will be inked before i die.. well crossing my fingers hehe.. but not now.
once i was about to get a tattoo but my father said no so i put it aside. now that am getting old, i really want one but i would still ask him of course.
i'm planning to have a big one on my nape. still looking for a design..

Its depend how is good to you..its depend on you. we have own like and dislike so i respect you becouse you show who you are.. I like you, like you said your tatoos represent who you are..For me its depend, im not saying is bad or good. How you carry on..

hi there, honestly i dont have tatts, and i will never get one because i dont like them at all, i know that there are very good ones as drawings only i can admire but no in someones arm or any part of the body, i see this like disrespectful, and i always relate tattoos with bad habits, and as far as i know some people do not hire a person who have many tattoos,
im dont like the idea of marking our wondeerful skin.

i have:
2 large swallows on my front shoulders/chest.. they are sailor jerry-esque only they are green, purple and pink. you can see them in my profile picture, or if you go into my discussions theres one about tattoo's and i've uploaded a pic of them.
i have a large sailor jerry style padlock in the shape of a heart, with my partners name running through the actual padlock hinge. its red, and yellow for the lock etc and has a broken link hanging from it. my partner has a key, also with a broken link hanging from it, as if they broke apart, with my name in the key. hers is on her inner arm, mine is on my upper arm :)
i have hebrew writing around my arm from song of songs stating "i am to my beloved, what my beloved is to me"
i have a large lotus flower, purple, pinks and yellows, wrapped around my left wrist. [see the way all my colours are pinks, purples, reds, yellows, and greens.. like old sailor style tattoo's]
i've a small star on my left shoulder.
i have a large serpent dragon on my right shoulder.
carpe diem on my left hip. [seize the day]
a tribal symbol for freedom on my right hip.
and a little ballet bow on my right foot, that ties in the middle like a corset, also shaded with some pink.
