Has anyone sold paperbacks on Amazon.com?

I have tons and tons of paperbacks that I would like to get rid of. I have donated some, and sold some at a garage sale, but I still have lots left over. I was thinking about trying to sell them on Amazon, but it looks like the fees may end costing me more than the books are worth. Has anyone tried to sell paperbacks there? Does it work or is their system only geared towards more expensive books? Thanks--any information/advice is greatly appreciated!

I sell my school textbooks and such back on Amazon, but other than that I usually just sell them at garage sales/etc. Some of the newer or more popular books might be able to make you some money, but for ones that are only worth a dollar or two, by the time you factor in fees and shipping and the time it takes you to list, package, and ship, it isn't really worth it. Something you might consider is finding a used book store nearby that will let you sell books to them.

That was my feeling too; that it's not really worth it to sell paperbacks on Amazon. I tried our one and only used book store--they took a few, but not that many. Thanks for the advice!

My wife sells some of her schoolbooks at Amazon.com as well as half.com. These are never the smaller format paperback such as novels so I cannot say about such books. She does well with her schoolbooks many of which are not really hardback but I don't think they are called paperback. I suggest looking up some of your titles and seeing if you can find them on the site you want to sell them to get an idea if others are trying to sell similar that way. Also try craigslist.

Thanks for the great tips! And sorry I took so long to respond; I went on vacation and the hotel didn't have wifi. Enjoy the rest of the summer!
