Frozen with fear in my bungee experience

Are you the kind of person seeking out an adrenaline rush? Well I never was that person until my bungee jumping experience. Let me tell you my funny experience. This one day my dad and I was driving to the mall, which is already weird (he hates shopping!!), so while driving he saw an advertisement about bungee jumping and showed me, and immediately I agreed to go bungee jump with him. When we arrived at the place they were to busy to help us and asked us politely to come back the following day. The next morning I woke up all excited just to find my dad turned into a 'chicken' over night. It took me a whole week to convince him to drive me to the place so that I could jump, only to trick him to jump as well. He was definitely not impressed with the fact that his seventeen year old daughter tricked him into this, but he also knew he had no way of getting out of this situation. Before I could get my bearings straight my dad already jumped and a guy started strapping me in the safety harness. The countdown began. Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Bungee! The Guy yelled. And there I stood frozen with fear. Now imagine this: The guy stand there looking at you with big eyes and your dad stands about 70 meters beneath you yelling 'common, I'm waiting!' So first thing popping into my mind is my dad is not going to appreciate the fact that I tricked him into this only for me to 'chicken out' and the second thing popping into my mind is how on earth am I going to get of this bridge? So eventually I asked the guy to practically throw me of the bridge, believe it or not! well I survived the experience and loved every second of it. My next goal is to find the highest bungee in the world and go jump of it. Needless to say my mom didn't like this and was actually furious with me until I told her the story then she started laughing thinking it is very funny, and she forgot she was ever angry with me.

Hi Nikkie and welcome to mylot... That is a funny story, how each of you went through this experience differently than you both thought you would.. This makes me wonder if I would be like your dad because when I was younger I always wanted to parachute out of an airplane, but now as I gotten older, I don't think I could do it..I wonder if I somehow end up on a plane, if I could go through with it???

Who would have ever thought it would turn out that way? I also want to go parachute someday I think it could be a great experience. My dad was in the army with the parachute brigade and he says parachuting is the most fun ever it is even better than bungee jumping and started loving it to bungee jump. He often goes back just for the fun of it. I think if you ever get the opportunity to try that you must go for, you won't regret it (or so they say)

Bungee jumping can be really dangerous (im not saying its bad); First of all when you think about it your trusting your entire life to an elastic while ur free falling 50-200 ft down depending on where u r.

you are brave to do the bungee jump! i think this is one adventure i will never be able to experience. not that i cannot conquer the fear, but my back injury does not qualify me. the most exhilarating i've tried so far is the zipline. not that scary because i've done this lots of time already but of course the first time i tried this, i was very nervous. my husband even videotaped me.
