Can mouthwash cure bad breath?

Mouthwash does not remove the causes of bad breath-it can only mask the odor. The sources of bad breath include the decaying teeth, trapped particles of stale food, infection of the nasal cavity or lungs, and uncontrolled diabetes. More often, its cause is something much simpler and that is eating such foods as garlic and onion. Residual oils from those foods pass into the bloodstream and through the lungs and the odor is expelled with each breath.

you are right but in a way, mouthwash can be a temporary shield for others who are extra conscious of their breath.
