Here's the thing: I started my orientation this day, and I've no complains about giving meds to patients, doing inventory and such... However, I kinda didn't like the system, and how things work. I asked about my schedule, and they didn't know yet. I know they wanted me to come tomorrow and I asked what time, they didn't know, and the lady said I should ask the manager, and when I asked the manager, she said she didn't know, and go ask the director. The director wasn't there.. I was really stressed out with the not so systematic way....... I asked about my compensation and such and still I didn't get any definite answer from them. So I really don't know... I'm plannin to resign, but is it too soon? What should I do? I know I wouldn't be happy with this, and I don't like to work on a job if I'm not happy about it.

Hahaha! What kind of environment are you in? It seems like nobody knows anything, just kidding. There are really companies/associations like that that do not have a good system. Maybe you can still try it out for at most a week. After that, you can decide whether to give them more chance or to give your self a chance to be satisfied with other employers. Anyway, you'll lose nothing if you try. :)

It is a private facility. So let's say I give it a week, and what if I really didn't like the system.. Is it ok for me to resign? Is it a bad thing or not?

kimiko -- It is difficult for us to like all the people, all the systems. But we have to be with people who we do not like also. That is known as tolerance. That ability has to be developed slowly. This bad feeling can come as a result of ur not being given importance. True-- u will not get importance on the first day. People rate you by your work. stay, work and see.

If you really find yourself not happy with that work, you should consider finding another job. I don't think its a bad thing if you resign. Explain to them why you want to resign. Be careful though not to be frank enough that they will be irritated with what you say. Just be honest and polite at the same time. :)

U are in USA. What is the problem? How were u recruited? U went through some reference or not. If u have gone thro reference then seek information thro him and director/manager. It is difficult to get jobs nowadays/ Do not resign this without getting another one. What is the nature of company? I found companies like Mcdonald, Costco, Meijer they alway put "We are hiring" boards. pl check up

I actually work in a private facility. More like a rehab center. I really have no problem with my duties and such, however, with no definite schedule and not knowing whether I'm going to work part-time or not, is something that really puts me down. Something in the system is a little hazy for now, today's my second day, I don't even know what time I'll be starting as no one would give me the definite time. But I will just call the manager or the director. I'm going to see if this is something that will work for me on the following days to come.

You have another job also which is a part time one. You have clear schedules and probably suitable for you. If u are satisfied with the salary package then go to than company only. Why should u go to a place with confusion when u have another without confusion.

Yeah I really wish I know my definite work schedule by now because I need to balance things out and see if I could get both jobs at the same time or if not, I will just resign on this current job and go for the other one...

Is this something that requires certification and you have it, like a CNA? When I first saw the heading of your post, I said definitly not. But if you are certified, and there are many other places to go, then maybe yes. But still, sometimes it's just bad timing and it just so happens the director wasn't there and maybe the manager reports to the director. What I would do mis give it a week, maybe more if you aren't certified. But as far as the job itself, nobody likes going to work. My girlfriend is a CNA and she doesn't like the thought of going to work either. But we have bills. They have to be paid and right now, I'm looking for work. It all depends on your situation, but it does sound like they are not too organized. I mean, come tomorrow, but they don't know what time??

Hi there, yeah I probably should give it a week before I decide to resign... I'm a RN and I work here in this private facility. The schedule that I have right now isn't organized yet... I'm still waiting for my final sched. Plus, I'm not even sure if I'm part time or full time.. So it's really confusing... .

I would say hang in there cos jobs are hard to come by these days. However, if you have sufficient savings to tide you over until you get another job and if you really can't stand it anymore, then I would say go ahead.

Hi there. I also get confused. :-P I think you should not resign. It is too early to do such. I suggest that you should try working there first and if the same problem you encounter, then that is the time that you'll quit the job. There is nothing wrong of trying than to regret in the future. :-D good luck!

Hi there, I think you should try out and wait for awhile on how things work. It wouldn't be good to quit right away. But its your choice. Maybe they are still working this project and seeing how things work. Talk to the manager or director again if you have the chance. If you have worked there for awhile, you can go quit. Let see what happens on 2nd day.

Hi!I am confused. What is your job and why is it that they can't tell you your schedule and salary? Did you have your orientation first before getting the work? If you can still tolerate the system and need the money, I think you should stay first and wait for further improvements.Give them a month so you can really see if it's okay or not.

It is very clear that they don't have a system in there. That's a huge sign. Get out of there as soon as you can. Find a better job that have a functional system in place. Happy Mylotting!!

I think you should first test the waters. give it a shot. But if you still feel the same, then do the move. It is also better to do first before you complain. When you know you did your best but nothing changes, then you will not regret for not trying. I also believed If you don't like the system, get out of the system.

Your situation right now with your work is really stressful not with your actual work but with the company's system. It should not be that way, in every companies they must practice organized system and orderly procedure not only on how they run the firm but as well as on how they will treat their employees. Many companies neglects that important factor, with this system they are not aware that this could affect the quality of their company's operation. For my personal opinion whether you should resign or not, I guess you should stay for at least a week or two and try to observe first with your working environment, because it is too soon to resign...maybe you just need some adjustment to get along with it. But if within that period of time and that system still the same and you feel that it's not going to work for you and you are not really comfortable with their unorganized system...then I guess it is the time for you to decide and make an action for your resignation.
