I know this an old discussion, but I'll respond for the kicks: I believe you are asking whether squirrels are vegetarians or meat eaters, correct? If so squirrels are neither obligate veggie eaters or obligate meat eaters. All squirrels that I am aware of (including flying squirrels) are omnivores. They cannot digest the cellulose found in plants and have to eat high protein food including nuts, tree buds, bugs, fruit (I believe) and bird eggs. Dan

Squirrel, any kind of squirrel, is considered a meat. I have seen the meat on them myself. I have never eaten squirrel, nor would I, but I know some people that hunt and eat squirrel and love it. To me it is disgusting. I would touch it. It is definitly a meat.
