I found out tonight about a fellow coworker, who shall remain unnamed, that goes on Evangelical christian chat rooms and makes fun of the people on the site..She is an atheist so her justification is that she only does it because they are on there saying how only christians will go to heaven and EVERYBODY else will go to hell and be with Satan. While I agree that this is wrong for them to think that, as God is the only One who can JUDGE ME, I kind of feel like its wrong in a way. But im leaning more towards her explanation..

I believe in higher beings, who knows where you will end up. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you do not go insulting other people belife's .

With some I think there is an insecurity about their own beliefs and/or an arrogance they have 'found the way' Either does not help the person or those who interact with them.

what a difficult question, penny4. my interpretation of the new testament is that it is our actions that will get us to heaven, there are a few right wing christian politicians in the uk who in my view completely misunderstand god, and take a sort of one issue approach to christianity, which, somewhat convenientally, seems to miss out the bit about being non judgmental and helping the poor. so i have a bad habit of taunting right wing christians for their views, but i don't go to chat rooms to do it. but i do know that god exists, i just don't accept their version of god, my god is a leftwinger not a rightwinger.

I think some Christians go overboard in their enthusiam and as a result turn others off. While I can appreciate their desire to share and spread their views, some need to stop and realize they can't browbeat others into believing. Judge not needs to be a banner in Christian churches as a reminder. I am a Christian who sincerely believes there are many paths to God. I don't understand how only one church/religion can be the 'only' way. That just doesn't seem logical to me.
