Spinach: Good source of folic acid

Folic acid is very important for pregnant woman to take especially on the first trimester of pregnany to prevent neural tube defect to the infant. One of the example of neural tube defect is spina bifida. It is classified into two, the spina bifida occulta and spina bifida cystica. Spina bifida cystica has sac on the back portion of the babies back. This defect is cause by the faulty fusion of vertebral disk due to lack of folic acid that lead to opening ang the cerebrospinal fluid goes there. Therefore, as a pregnant woman, be responsible for the development of your baby. Eat spinach or drink folic acid vitamins especially on the early period of pregnancy.
