ubuntu linux is my favorite operating system. It's got a mac like platform and you can customize it just the way you want it regardless of how it is. There are other debian based systems that aren't as powerful as ubuntu linux.

I like it because it has gimp, open office, mozilla, and many easy ways of cleaning trash files.

Ubuntu is by far the best OS for PC users. I'm really looking forward to by a MAC and if that happens i will never go back to windows! Cheers

Another operating system that is based on ubuntu is "knoppix". It free and you even down and burn entire DVD and you can even boot from. It's great, give it a try!

I had to use RedHat Linux during my school days, never liked the interface and thought I would never leave Windows for anything and Linux are only for geeks. But after seeing that an OS can be booted from USB stick, I was amazed and just wanted to try how it works. That was awesome, that was my first Ubuntu 9.x now I'm using 10.04. Eventhoug it has some minor problems I'm happy with it. Now I'm rarely logging into my Windows 7. Fantastic Linux Distro.
