Is beauty subjective or does it follow a common rule?

People nowadays would tend to say to themselves that they are indeed good looking but for other people they would say that that is not true while there are others who would regard persons as good looking and those who are regarded as such do not even consider themselves as good looking why is that?

Beauty depends on the eyes of beholder. The one may think something or somebody is beautiful while another may not regard the same a beautiful. It is all due to difference in thinking from individual to individual. No two person would think everything same.
