I have recently started working in a small startup organisation. The work i have to do there is research based and quite boring. I think most of you must have gone through this phase. Is there any solution to make time fly faster??? Im not saying that i dont work... But at times it becomes too hectic and boring... And the most irrating thing is that we cant loggon to social networking sites... Please help me out...

Humm that appplies to me too. I too get very bored working in office hours. Especially after eating a heavy lunch it becomes too difficult to work in afternoon, When you dont have enough sleep then your day becomes like a hell. I suggest get some good sleep which is the first very step to remain active. Since any social networking site are not allowed, Mylot is the only option for you to work something with, there are many tasks which users need to get worked with, lets say an example somebody says he will give you some cents to signup some offers so engaging in your free time in such activites you help you a lot. Hope this response helps you.

I've worked in offices and a great way to keep your concentration going and to relieve bordom is have a radio playing. It gives you something to listen to and keeps you upto date with what's happening. The other thing I'd always do is go and make a brew whenever I found it too boring. Just getting away from your desk for a few minutes can feel like a 30 minute break.

No radio, I'd hate that. Would they let you listen to music via headphones? I couldn't sit in an office where's there's complete silence. In my last job we always had the radio playing, we were able to watch Wimbledon and we even had silly singalong Wednesday when we would make a playlist via YouTube of daft, silly songs and then join in. Our work was always completed and we always had fun

Even cell phones are to be used only if its really really important...I have joined here as an intern... so lets see how things work out to be... may be I can bring about a CHANGE in the work atmosphere...

haha can you log in to mylot? how come you have so much time at work to do a lot of things not work related. i think most companies nowadays really does not allow networking sites in the office. moreover if you have access to mylot, just waste time on here.. at least you will earn! =)

Yes, I have gone though such times in the course of my career. You mentioned that your job is with a small startup company. In fact, that does sound interesting. The company me be in need of your contributions to become successful. You might want to look at it from that perspective, and find ways to develop the organization. That way, the management would very much appreciate your services.

Only one thing that I can say to you, ..... make your job fun (do it in your own way as long not against your company policy).
