i dont know if i am being really unrealistic or what but you know guys i have always wanted to start a business like a clothing line of my own. because of this ambition my bf bought me a sewing machine. i was so happy that now i could start to start my own clothing line, but damn it is so difficult to learn how to sew. my machine jams my threads every now and then. arrrgghh!!! does anyone here think that i can still pursue this dream?

unless you are famous or have connections it is pretty hard. however, if you whip up some stuff, you can always sell it on etsy.com

No you're definitely not being unrealistic because there's no such thing as impossible dreams! You should definitely start it but it might take a long while for your clothing line to get noticed or popular. You should start small maybe sell some stuff on etsy or put up a small online shop. Practice your sewing and study designs and also get inspired. It takes a lot of perseverance and hard work to put up and especially maintain a clothing line... Anyway, good luck! :)

As long as you are not damaging your other career areas, treat the sewing as a hobby that you hope to turn into a business! That way you will follow your dream and still not give much up. =) The only problem then is that there will come a time when you have to dedicate to the business more than your current career.... but I'm sure you and your boyfriend can work that out in good time.

hello, nothing wrong with having a dream it's just that you will have to decide what you want to do with your life and be ready to accept consequences later on. If I would base it on my experience, I was educated on a course that would lead to medical school proper and medical practice but somewhere along the way, I decided that I wanted to go into business despite pressure from family members, I stood by what I wanted to do with my life and never had regrets. So it's still up to you and hope a few sewing machine jams would not hinder you in your ambition to succeed, remember rich and famous people had difficulty and frustrations too one tome or the other when they were starting, good luck.
