I miss that river very much, but it has disappeared!!

In my hometown there's a river near my home and it's actually next to my hisband's home. The river is still there and people are still washing there clothes there. Thank God because now the laundry soaps are environmental friendly, they no longer harm the fish! In hot humid days I can still see children swimming there.

We always miss those wonderful things which grow up with us. In my hometown there is a big river, which is the major mother river of the city. It has been there for thousands of years. In my childhood memory, it was big and still is. This river is made to be more beautiful with the river bank well fixed as a scenic spot for people to take a walk. But I am sorry that the small river in your hometown has already disappeared because of commercial activities. I have discovered that a lot of rivers, big or small, have been dug up for its sand for construction, leaving the river deep in one spot and shallow in another that some people got drowned while swimming in those spots. Also it is no good that the whole river as well as the forest in your hometown is gone. I wish it would come back to your life some day.

My mind could picture the river you described here... a river surrounded by forest with all the different kinds of trees and flowers. Beautiful!!! But,how sad to know that this wonderful creation was removed to be converted into commercial area. How could they just destroy nature in favor of commercialism? My ancestral home has a river some few walks away. It was once a clear flowing river and we sometimes would go boating in that river and sometimes even go fishing with our uncle. That river is now a total disaster, it has been polluted by men and nearby factories. How sad to note that nature is not at all respected in this modern days.

It's sad to hear your river is gone, cause of human beings changing the environment with buildings and other commercial things. When I was a child there was a forest where I used to play, but now a highway is running over that area.
