Not sure how many people do searching on different things. I find myself going all over the internet in search of different areas of history. I started finding various love letters from men and women. Can you imagine how mail even found them? I think of our postal system today and we snap our fingers and mail happens. Anyway I found this love letter. Here is the introduction to it and then the link. I hope anyone that enjoys history as much as me, will understand how from the heart these men were away from their loved ones. Major Sullivan Ballou of the Union Army wrote this letter home to his wife Sarah in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
