Driving Traffic

So I've been trying to come up with different Ideas on how to drive traffic to my blogs. Well one of my friends suggested that I put an ad on craigslist and see how that goes.... I put a few ads out there for various cities, I guess you have to choose the venue for your ad, right. I put ads in London, New York city, Chicago, Phoenix(my home town), and Mumbai. I think that covers a large enough area for a trial run. If these ads drive even a small amount of traffic I'll be happy. I mean, It only took about 1/2 an hour to list in those 5 cities so. If it proves to be worthwhile I'll be posting ads all over the world...how long could that take??? Do you think this is a good idea? I'm not sure yet. I'll let you know how it turns out in a month...maybe sooner if I get lots of traffic.
