Filofax?

Personal Filofax Metropol in Raspberry - Although you can't see the filofax itself, this is the best representation of the colour - which is my favourite bit!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I've loved filofaxes ever since I was little, but have never been keen to spend the money. Today, I bit the bullet and ordered myself the Metropol Personal in Raspberry, from WHSmiths, as it was on sale at £18. The only problem is...I haven't quite figured out how I'll use it yet. I'm thinking maybe: Diary Tab - day to day schedule etc Uni Tab - Assignments, exam dates, dissertation ideas etc. Included in this tab I'm also thinking I'll put things related to the house I'm living in for the year - rent dates, events we're hosting as a house etc. Lists Tab - my day zero list, list of my personal goals, books I've read/want to read, favourite quotes, wish list, gift ideas etc Finances tab - With my monthly budget, and a tracker of my spending Engagement/Wedding tab - Rings I like (My partner wants ideas so he doesn't buy something I hate lol), different budget breakdowns and the savings we'd have to commit to to reach them, theme ideas, guest lists, etc etc Blog tab - I've been putting off starting a blog for forever, and am hoping to face my fear and just go for it this month. I've got lots of post ideas bouncing around in my head and it makes much more sense to have them in one place. I'd also like a year planner in this section so I can factor in things like seasonal/event related posts. The problem is, I still have a spare tab. I like the idea of having a "Me" tab like I've seen lots of other people have - something purely dedicated to things I WANT to achieve/do rather than things I HAVE to do, but I don't really know what I'd put in it other than an exercise/weight diary. Maybe fun things like outfit ideas or favourite recipes? But honestly, both those things feel like they'd belong better in the 'Lists' tab - but then how do I find anything inside that tab?! Do any of you use filofaxes? What does your tab set up look like? I'd love some advice on what to use my last tab for - having an empty one/a general notes one will irritate me! As well as that, I feel like I've forgotten something that should be in my filofax Can any of you think of any thing I've missed? I'm a second year zoology student, perpetually skint, soon to be engaged and...that's pretty much it really!

A filofax sounds as a good tool for organizing your mundane life. I wish you well it. I'm impressed by the very imformative description. I enjoyed reading it. Have much pleasure. Happy mylotting!

Thanks for your comment. A filofax can be a great tool for staying organised - as long as it's used well and often. It's obviously no good if you have that and another diary, re-writing all your appointments would be a waste of time. Similarly, it's no good if you don't put all your deadlines etc in it, because then you can't rely on it when it says you have nothing important to do on a day etc. But I really like mine, I'm getting into the hang of it now, and it makes me feel organised and efficient.
