Onset of Puberty in Boys

United States

I have 3 children, and 2 step children. Four boys and a girl, ages 2-13. The oldest is soon to be 14, and I just don't know what's going on with him. I was semi-prepared for puberty with my daughter, having experienced it myself, but I'm afraid I know next to nothing about what to expect from boys. Lately, he has become distant, moody, and highly emotional. Over the course of the summer, his voice dropped about 10 octaves, he grew hair in interesting places, and his face broke out. So, I'm pretty sure he is in teenage hormone hell. I just didn't expect the PMS-like symptoms of moodiness and such. What else am I in for???

Sometimes, you have to give more attention for your boys.
