It's Time to Get Back to Healthy Lifestyle

I am new to being a housewife as I got married just last June 17. And as they say, newly-wed couples tend to gain weight for being so comfortable on their happy start. Just like us, I cook foods that my husband love and I like the appreciation I hear every time. But what we didn't notice is that, we gained weight very obviously from how we look on our wedding day. And it's just so alarming. So, I decided to get back to a healthy lifestyle. Will be monitoring our food and exercise now. Wish us luck!

Good idea! I can imagine that it must be easy to slip into being so comfortable with each other that you forget to live a healthy lifestyle, so I am glad that you are taking that step - best of luck to you, here's to a healthy future!

That is good to hear. A healthy lifestyle includes a balance and healthy diet. I wonder what do you usually prepare for your husband. Do you always include fruits and vegetable in your meal? I have been married for 4 years and whether I prepare good food inside the home, we don't gain weight (probably its in the genes) or what hubby and I inherited from our folks. Well going back to healthy lifestyle, we do eat fruits and veggies, balance in red meats and we don't drink sodas or soft drinks. I do prefer to offer fruit juices in the morning rather than giving hubby coffee or tea, but hey this is just based on our discretion. But surely it does help a lot because health is wealth. We do exercise but not on a regular basis, maybe cleaning the house is already an exercise for me and brisk walking when I have to buy something, I needed to walk a few miles to reach the store. Happy Mylotting!

I think it's the Filipino food menu on the table and partly the genes. But i so believe that it's also a matter of discipline. So now we are so decided to recreate our food everyday. Instead of red meat and frying, lots of fruits and vegetables. And yes, my husband loves sodas so this is one thing that isn't easy for him to get rid of but he's willing. Thanks. :)

First of all, congratulations! Marriage bliss, what can I say? I am a June bride myself. I also had this problem of eating more and more together. I always cooked food, experimented on recipes at home. And since there was just the 2 of us, we had to finish all of the food ourselves. When weight gain became too visible, we decided to go jogging on weekends and eating healthy. Good luck to you both!

I know it is hard to loose the extra-weight you gained, but it is so good that you realized your mistake and you decided to stop what you did wrong! There are so many people that don't have the power to stop the unhealthy behavior and continue to gain weight. It is better to stop when it is not too late. I wish you both the best of luck!

You're correct. We wanted to look good and feel good and discipline will help us achieve that. Thanks for another push. :)

That's very good idea. My partner is slim but he did not like exercise and many times he said to me that he doesn't have to. But finally he started exercise. 15 or 20 minutes a day and he noticed change in his mood after 10 days of exercising. He confess that his mood is better also he stopped complain on joint pain. I'm disable but I exercise every day. Once or twice a week I'm going to swim and I feel really good. Being active is great way to deal with stress ( like in my case). I wish you all the best.
