Filipino food is a happy food. Know why? One of the reasons is, when the food is serve on the dining table we have the opportunity to share it to other people. When other people is around when we serve the food we tend to say to the other people "Kain tayo"(lets eat), "Kuha ka..."(Have some). What's great about that is that even though the food that we prepared is only enough to the person who will eat or is enough the people who has share on the food that is served, we Filipinos still happily and open heartedly share what we have got no matter how little that we got. what about you my friends? have you tried eating filipino foods? what is your marvelous experience on eating our food? Can you say my friend that filipino food is a happy food?

Yes, we Filipinos are really hospitable. Too hospitable that sometimes, our other "kababayans" take advantage. Sometimes we should also put a limit or a border to our kindness or being hospitable. Sharing with others can be really fun and fulfilling but if other people are abusing it, the fun stops.

That's the great thing of being Filipino! Very generous and hospitable, right? Everytime we have guest or just someone from neighborhood who come in our house and someone's eating, we always ask them to have some! :)

Yes, I definitely agree that Filipino food is a happy food! When you experience eating in provinces, it is really one good way of pointing out how we can find happiness on our own local foods. And these are several ways, why I am proud of own foods: 1. The way that it is cook. I like it when old people cooks food, whether it is a grandmother/grandfather, aunt/uncle, mom/dad, when they grew up in the provinces, and they learn how to cook there, it seems that they have a very native way of cooking foods. Absolutely, it comes out very, very delicious. It makes you forget your name. 2. Presentation and the way we eat foods. Rice wrapped in banana or pandan leaves. Serving foods in palayok and bilao. Eating as a big family on a big banana leaf using no utensils but only our bare hands is really fun. The warmth and the fact that foods taste a lot great when shared. 3. Wherever you go- A Filipino will always be a Filipino when it comes to food. When we work on another country, even if we eat Pizza, some delicious types of pasta, steaks, burgers and all, Filipino's will still find time to cook and look for our own local foods. There's nothing like it you know. I am happy I am a Filipino that I have the change to experience Filipino foods... This is one of life's greatest thing to offer.

We cannot deny, especially as Filipinos. That our palate will always look for "lasang pinnoy" in time. Even we have already tasted other countries delicacies. I guesse, the saying is right. You will always and always will look back to where you came from.

I am also a Filipino and our way of being hospitable and entertaining visitors is really superb, esp when it comes to foods. We're always conscious what to serve, what are their favorite foods. And we really love eating and having meals/dinner with friends and whenever there is a small occasion or event, we spend too much with foods. have a good day jaiho®

Filipinos are very hospitable people. Even if they only have little foods , they will offer it to anybody who comes to their house unexpectedly. But i guess, it's up, for the guest to discern whether to partake , because as an unexpected guest, we know that we are not counted on the food serving. Filipinos always have foods in their celebration of an occasion. Even meals at home with simple dish could really be a happy experience because of the animated talk we have while eating. Such a nice trait of us Filipinos!

That is so true. It is really up to the guest to discern if the food that is offered is still enough for the persons who will eat. And it really depends on their shame though(hehehe). Filipinos will always and always will invite guests to dine with them.

YES. Filipino is happy food. I live in New York now and I spent the past weekend eating and Filipino restaurants. The AMAZING thing about Filipino is that it's all for sharing. How can anything get anymore happier than that? A few days ago, we ate a restaurant called "Sa Aming Nayon" and everything was for sharing, at a great price! We ordered 5 dishes, 2 plates of rice, 2 extra rice, 2 halo-halo's and the four in our party paid the same amount as one order of skirt steak and a side. I was missing good Filipino fare and I got my fill.

I'm Filipino so I've tried Filipino foods and what you said is just so true :D It's quite fun to hear people say "Kain tayo" even when you see them eating already and you know that the food is not enough to be shared. I think Filipinos are giving and friendly by nature :) I remembered one time when I joined the Youth Congress. We had this informal dinner. While we're eating, an American participant dropped by our table for a chat and we told him to help himself. He was like "Is this even enough that you guys are asking me to help myself?" We just laughed and told him it's ok :D

See. I think saying "Kain tayo" is already pre-programmed in our brain. Whenever we see other people while we are eating we just cant help saying "Kain tayo"(have some)!!!

hi:) Oh yes definitely, that's one of the traits of Filipino, we share our food even if it's only good for one person. It only shows how hospitable and loving Filipino's are, in every thing that have Filipino touch you can see how wonderful people we are.
