Very sad and somewhat shocking news. Steve Jobs has had to step down as CEO of Apple. It was announced this evening after the stock market closed. It will be interesting to see what Apple stock does tomorrow and in the near future. It will be interesting to seem how the company fares in months and years ahead. Sadly for Steve Jobs, it appears that he is coming to the end of his life. He has been sick for years and the statement made today indicates that he will not be with us very much longer. It is probably very hard for him to have to leave his beloved company and his family both at Apple and at home. I have heard of one bumper sticker that goes "He who dies with the most toys wins" and a response to this bumper sticker went "He who dies with the most toys is still dead".

It was shocking when i first came to know that steve jobs is suffering from cancer and I think it is a wise decision to resign and live the remaining days with a little workload and surely people will remember him as the best CEO ever. This is the most innovative company in the world and this innovation is now blended in every apple employee and I hope that everything goes well and we came across intriguing apple products in the future. Also i do not think that there will be a major dip in the apple market in the near future.

Even as you say that the stock will go down, it will not be a big issue as this will be a short term affair. The real thing is if Apple worked as well without steve jobs then there will be no looking back for apple. If the stock goes down tomorrow, I think it will be a great buying opportunity..

I believe that the stock did fall greatly the morning after Jobs announced that he was stepping down as CEO. But I think the stock has since come back. I do not know where it is right now. But I thought that I heard something about Apple selling for $5 and change in 1979 or 1980 something. if I had only bought, huh, ...... So, did you buy?

You never know about investors. They can be cold hearted about the bottom line. A couple of years back when Steve Jobs made one of his rare public appearances looking very frail, the stock immediately tumbled. Investors looked at him and within seconds sold the stock. It is all about the bottom line. Everyone identifies Apple with Steve Jobs. But I assume he did pick wisely as you say. There is a succession plan and I am certain that Jobs has very very good people to carry on. Apple is a very good product and very innovative as you say.

I wish Tim Cook well. But Jobs chose to step down because he felt he could not fulfill his duties any longer as CEO. I believe that he chose Cook to replace him.

Yes, it was a very sad news. It was a shocking news I would say. People around the world must have felt it too. I saw the news broadcast on the TV this afternoon. It would be very interesting to see how the Company will proceed on, technically and business-wise.

Investors and others identify Apple with Steve Jobs and Steve Jobs with Apple. They go hand in hand. The company should go on well without Jobs but you never know. It is as though his personality is stamped on it. There is a succession plan and I am certain that Jobs has picked wisely.

Yes has resigned. With his resignation the stocks, the phone market and Apples competitor are feeling the changes too. He was also called the visionary or Apple. I also read in an article that Steve Job is venturing into a similar business, it seems that he also have survive his disease. Which is which.

Well, that is interesting. Maybe he is not coming to the end of life. I think that almost everyone assumes with his resignation that Jobs is at the end of life. We will see, right. This is one where time will tell.

Hey actually he doesn't quit he just gave his title away and got another job in the company. And I fully understand that because being so high in the company must have been hard throught the "sick days". I really hope Steve is getting better! What would the world have been without apple products?!

Hopefully, Apple will remain a good product and success after Jobs. There is a succession plan. Check out Wikipedia on Steve Jobs. Very interesting.
