Should Alcohol and Smoking Banned completely

I think alcohol and smoking should be banned completely. I heard that drinking alcohol and smoking may give relax to the people while they are tensed. I also heard that alcohol is given for curing some type of diseases.It should be noted that 99% of these gives dangerous.As I don't want to tell you the real consequences of using such things. So for 1% useful we should not banned this alcohol. There are alternative way to cure disease. What do you think about my statement ?
