Is it that women are not preferred. So times to compensate, so to speak. yes because gender research refers to both sexes. Contrast, women's studies is indeed related only to women. Emancipation is the reverse then?

There were often times in recent weeks about why should only women should be "explored". On one side, men on here excited about the fact that they would be at a disadvantage because there are no "men's studies" there. On the other hand, women also felt that the term would be "women's studies" imply that women like animals would be found out, while men are perceived as seemingly so simple that they are a kind of "open book". It then found some not to be okay. In this respect, the term "gender studies" probably be fair to both sides so that no one feels excluded.
