Good thinking Bus Driver

Philippines

Hello Lotters, There's also a storm that's also raging in the Philippines that we locally called Mina. they were a lot of floods in the provinces, not to mention land slides. They were some terrible news about Buses falling from the cliff because the soil isn't hardened with cements yet in other provinces that some are falling down because of the strong rains. That night, the driver felt that one of his tires are sinking. He immediately signaled and called out the passengers out of the BUS. minutes water, they all witness the BUs falling from the Ground. It was a good call, nice to know they're are still good drivers around. Have a nice day

dear LK, I am sure the bus driver was used as an instrument to save those lives. I am sure God sent an angel to save them, thru the driver who felt the tires sinking. Have a good day and be safe always dear brother sis, jaiho®

Hello Sis-Jaiho, I haven't left in a while but yes i will be careful even if am home. tonight they were a bunch of teenagers who hangs out in front of our gate. Well, i believe also that it was his instinct that save them and him. i hope more drivers are alert like him some day. have a nice day.

Hello Bhabycatch, This is the first time i have actually heard it. the usual incidents that you hear are mostly involved with a crazy, lazy or sleepy driver driving as fast as he could. some people are sleepy that they ended up hitting soomething or falling off the cliff. Have a nice day.

LetranKnight25, It was a good and timely call indeed. However, I hope the bus company would not penalized him for loosing the bus especially the number of lives he managed to save. I couldn't help feeling that this driver is not only alert but a very experienced one as well. Of late, storms have been rampant and brewing everywhere around the world. I just hope that things will get better and the these storms would not be getting any bigger or out of control.

Hello Skysuccess, It would have been a lot more worse for the company if both the passengers and driver fell off the cliff.if they fire him simply because of that bus he can complain to the dept. of labour. it's not his fault since base on the news, it happened so far and that is rare for driver to act quickly. Have a nice day

Yes that is a very good instinct. And I am surprise with all the news about bus trageties that this is a bus driver with common sense and who pays attention to something as little as a tire sinking. We need more bus drivers like this. If I lived there I would be afraid to drive because of the land slides but I am sure there are some precautions you have to take.

Hello Amanda, That's a very rare news if you asked me. most drivers would either be sleepy or act like a race car driver to do what ever they want to do with the bus regardless of passengers. with out surveilance and guard, there's no way for them to be able to take the passengers to safety. Have a nice day.

Such drivers are rare nowadays and you are really one lucky person if you are being driven by a responsible, sensible, law abiding citizen driver! Our family driver has been with us for more than 20 years and we are lucky to still have him in our service.

Hello Toni-ganzon, I think lack of Proper Education is the main reason as to why we experience drivers who don't know etiquette about driving properly. or at least having their own back up drivers most specially when they are tired already. have a nice day.

I was able to watch this at the news earlier. What the bus driver did was really heroic. Good thing his quick thinking jump started during that moment or else that incident will be considered as another addition to the long list of bus accidents in the Philippines. Good job manong driver!

Hello Enigma, Not to mention it could have cost lives and the passengers property if he didn't act quickly. i hope they don't fire him and raise his salary instead. He's very rare and i hope the company recognize his effort and not the bus that he lost on the cliff. Have a nice day.

Exactly. Maybe they won't fire him but I doubt if they'll raise his salary. =) Another unsung hero. (sigh)

Thank God they are safe. I'm glad the driver stopped instead of pursuing the trip to earn money.
