There are many freelance jobs you can choose from from writing, rewriting, copywriter and even data entry. I think there are about 1,000+ options you can choose from many websites available. You have to get your profile right and updated first. Put in a good photo in case of people have a look at your profile. Top tips you must have: 1. You search the job you like. 2. Read the requirements 3. Place a bid or a request for the job. If you are new, bid the lowest bid to have a better chance. 4. After bid, select send pm to the project manager. Explain and convince him why he should employ you. 5. Attach a sample of your work (optional) but worth it honestly. 6. Wait for his reply. Some sites offer deposit and upfront payment. Place a low upfront ir none depending on your choice. If the employer agree, he will give you a upfront payment for the project. Some doesn't. For me, I normally palce a 5-10% upfront payment but leave it optional for the project manager I am currently writing articles for those project guys for about USD 1 per 400-500 words article to USD 5.00 depending on subjects. I just finished my old job and I got a USD 4. 4 articles in 1 day and get paid immediately. Things to worry about: 1. Read the project manager's profile. Some are scam so be careful. 2. Not place too high bid if you are new. 3. Make sure your english is perfect and use Words to check for mistakes. 4. Have a good profile to attract people. here are simple tips which all can use them. Just a few cents from my experience. If you are interested to work and try on freelancing opportunities, drop me a private message and I will be more than happy to recommend and assist you in anyway I can :) Have a great holiday guys!

This is a very low payment ($4). Even i earn $10 or $ 12 Daily in another good freelance website without writing articles. Man articles are wasteage - of - time. Some times your work will rejected, feels so depressed, working so many hours writing articles. If you want to write articles - use some genuine sites like triond or helium, making a life time money by sharing your own articles link. I am not doing article work, i am doing something else online to make a decent amount of money of $10 - $12 daily. The website which i work there is quick and the best but not the time consuming, like in other freelance site, for requesting a work for a living. Requesting a work is also an another time consuming work. Even i don't request anything or begging from some one to do his work. Some times i have made $12 in 8 minutes depending on the work on my freelance site.

Sigh.. You just don't seem to get the point. The fact isn't about the money but just writing. It doesn't really matter if that works for you or what so ever it is just a job and a chance where it could work for anyone anywhere. The reason I am saying is because I create a topic by saying freelancing job and what's the potential of it along. You came in by saying writing freelancing is waste of time and earning low. Well, you might earn low but so what? All i am saying that what doesn't work for you, could work for others. There aint a specific plan for you or for me. We are here to share, so it is depends on others to decide. However to say wasting of time for writing, dude you have not seen anything yet. Honestly... Anyway, appreciate your post but we'll, I believe freelancing is definitely a good job for those looking for part time job. It could easily be a full time time if you know how to play around :D

I tried looking for jobs on Odesk but I was unsuccessful. First, I don't have a portfolio to attach to my profile and I don't have a specific area of expertise. After 3 months of applying, I gave up. Maybe I'm just not good enough for them or maybe my cover letter just sucks big time. =)

Hey! Actually you are some what right. I myself been trying to get a job at odesk but it is freaking hard. I did everything I could but couldn't land a job. However, now I am working for another website and just got my pay yesterday. Something like odesk and has a lot of options to play around. I have the banner link on my profile for the link if you are interested :) Tip is getting a great profile up and at the same time, when you apply for a job, give the best relevent sample writing you got (if you are into writing). I gave my best article and it works in some way. Maybe..haha!

I know right? Most jobs on Odesk have hundreds of applicants. Good luck landing a job! I'm going to check your profile later. I am not sure how I'll create a sample for data entry though. *LOL* Thanks nicregi! Congratulations on your new job. ;)

WHen everybody is equally good, how's the employer going to take their pick? By going for the lowest bid? By then, a project that's worth hundreds, might only worth 30, and that's such a waste of time, isn't it? I would say, opt for a field whereby there are not many competition. That would assure a much higher earning since it's limited and employers do not get a choice to choose. PLay to one's strength and take advantage of the limitations.

Depends on how you see it. That's why I would strongly suggest to those doing so is to drop a message to the employer and even give a sample. From my experience, only serious buyers will ask for a sample job. Putting the lowest bid, has been long time 'available' in trading, business market. Therefore, proof why you worth that much. However, got to agree with you on the playing your pros and cons the right way :)

That's a great topic to discuss. Thank you very much for the tips shared. In fact, I received your PM also for my query in another blog. I am yet to visit the site nicregi. As I feel its a bit complicated process. The site you mentioned is only re-directing us to the job providers. Am I right? I am now focusing on my offline business and planning to expand-start a new- project. Anyway, thanks for the sharing Nicregi.

Hello wealthymouli! Yes, it is more based to a middle person finding us jobs. However, the site I send you a PM, is a palce where you can place your project to find for other freelancers. This is a very good thing as if you have a good reputation, you can earn alot and can wrok for bigger projects. Of course, that is when you can start find for freelancers to help you out. In fact, this is one of my future plans :) Simple yet promising :)

Hi there. There are many IT&T related freelancing too at the site I am working now. There are a few ways to make sure you get the job even if you don't have experience. 1. Read up to udnerstand about the job. 2. Put a lower bid. Not too low though. 3. Create a good portfolio for yourself. 4. Don't give up. Keep applying and learn from mistakes. 5. Gte started! There is a link on my profile banner for the website I am talking about. You can try it and it is totally free. No worries about it.
