Whenever I go out to get something to eat or go to buy something in particular like for example buying pillow covers but I'll see a nice boutique and start looking through the glass window and see pretty shoes, blouses and jeans and I'll go in the store and have a look and then get a few things and leave with 3-4 bags, I find myself doing this a lot, I go out I see a store with clothes and I'll go and buy even though I didn't plan on buying clothes, I cannot pass by a clothing store without going in to buy. Would you say this is a shopping addiction?

Can you afford to buy the things that you're buying, or are you in a lot of debt? If you can afford it, then I don't think that it's too much of a problem. Also, do you actually use what you buy or does it just end up sitting in a drawer forever? If you use everything then I am tempted to say that you're alright. If you feel as though you have a problem, then you might be able to go for counselling to try and address the issues that you clearly have with your shopping. You might be able to get to the bottom of the reasons that you do this; however I don't think that you're causing any great deal of harm to anyone at the moment.

hi:) I think it's alright to do that if you have money to burn to buy all that stuff, well us girls really love pretty things, because we want to look good all the time. and also shopping is one of our stress reliever. but I think too much sometimes is not already normal. Me I only go shopping for clothes and things perhaps once a month or twice if I have extra money.

Hello Judy! I really can't say what thi phenomenon can be termed as , as I am also suffering from same Syndrome! I am also a impulsive sopper like you! We go for shopping once in a month toany good mall or departmental stores! Though we have a list of the things to get, we often end up with the double the amount of the things present in the list! I can't really stop my temptation if I get to see anything of my interest,I purchase t immidiately, even if I may not needed it immidiately! I have got weakness for books and I can't kill my urge if I get a nice book in any Book shop! Simlarly I amcurious abou the electronic zigmos and other interesting eletronic equipment at this age of 50+! I spend a lot on these equipments! So with so many shopping vices with me how can I comment if you are an shopping addict or not? LOL!!!! Thanks for the discussion, it was oneof my favorite topic and I enjoyed it!!!!

hello, Yes, I think so this is a kind of shopping addiction because you buy whenever you see something that interest you. Nothing maybe I just compare myself to you because I never do that even how i like to go shopping. I always make plan because I budget my money. he he Maybe this how make you happy. its alright? as long as nobody get affected.

i think that is shopping addiction, to buy clothes every time you've seen pretty outfits and stuff. You certainly have a lot , lots of money on hand to buy whatever you like. That's amazing judy.

I used to have the same problem but I wouldn't consider it an addiction unless you have no longer have any control what so ever over it, you keep buying even know you have no money and you buy just to buy not because you'll use or wear it.

Yes, it is considered a shopping addiction where you can't help yourself buy something from any boutique you go into. I am also guilty for this kind of addiction before I got married and got pregnant that every time I went to a store I just can't help myself buy something from their shop regardless if I really don't need it. Buying things what you want and not what you need is not good if it is too much my dear. :)

I think so, why buy extra clothes when you don't need them. I personally go out to buy certain necessaties and don't let myself distracted by things I really can miss.
