Do you over-analyze or over-read?

Nowadays, chatting and sending SMS are two normal ways of communicating with people. When we chat, there are instances when we send out message with some emoticons. There are also instances when we don't. To people who are flirting online (or through text), there are instances when we do over read things, esp. if the person does not know how the other person feel towards him or her. So my question is, do you over read or over analyze messages at the stage when you're still learning new things about the person? I tried not to over read. But I guess, I have that weird tendency - even if it's not on the flirting side, even it's something platonic (or work related), I have this tendency to dramatize a message.

do you mean, interpreting the message beyond and over its actual meaning that the sender wanted to send. i guess it's better to clarify the message with the sender before giving another meaning of the said message.
