For me I gained a little because of the internet (specifically online games). I'm around 158 lbs and I think it's quite normal. I usually sit and use the web for 4-6 hours a day. The internet had affected my lifestyle so I think I gained extra weight because of it.

i would not attribute my gain of weight to the use of internet... its really more on my eating habits and my body structure. i am not blessed like other people who can easily burn calories. for me, it should take a couple of more exercises to burn a few calories nd i can easily gain it back again too...

I sit still for a lot of my day because I work on the internet and I have to, and I suppose that I might not be as heavy as I am today if I had not been doing that for so many years of my life. However, I am currently losing weight and have lost five stones since this time last year because I have been doing more exercise than I have ever done before in my entire life. It just shows that although we can spend a lot of time at our desks at times, we can more than make up for it by exercising in our spare time. Nobody should work for hours which are so long that you don't have the time to work out and, if you are one of the people who choose to do that, you should seriously consider changing your lifestyle as you will find that your health will suffer in the long term if you continue to work so hard and neglect your physical fitness.

Hi Jacruz! I did not gain weight because of the internet. I may be sitting a lot but I make it a point that I don't sit immediately after eating. Because they say that if you sit immediately after eating, it will make you fatter. I also exercise every morning and I don't eat too much.

Hiya jacruz, Neither one or the other I donĀ“t have much time to sit here for even half and hour at a time I always have to keep getting up to do this that and the other. My others in this House will spend longer on the Internet with their Friends on the Webcam but they are not on that long either. After the novelty of it wears off of being on the Internet you get to go on less sometimes all depends really. But if I am looking for something I will stay on or keep coming back at intervals to see what I can research. But my weight has not varied.

Yup, I gained a little. Being in front of computer means lack of body's activity. The one that is keep active is only my fingers, lol No wonder if I gained a little weight every time I was being too much frequently behind my computer. And in addition, I am the type that can easily gain weight if I have no body activities and keep sitting all the day..

Internet can become very addictive, for different reasons. For me, I do have to spend a lot of time each work day on the internet doing the market research work at my work place. And, again, I get back on to the internet for enjoyment after I get back home in the evenings. But, I do try to stay active walking around and relaxing.
