How much fish should I eat a week to be healthy?

Just wondering what a healthy amount of fish per week would be, I think I remember you should eat oily fish, is that right? What's your view?

Fish caught in the seas were nurtured by nature so, these are among the best ones we can ever have. The oily ones are good ones, excellent for our health. It is said that fish oil promotes good health. Immediately i would recall cod liver oil for one. Then there is this type of fish oil which is good for the skin...especially for the face because it causes the skin to be youthful.

I never knew that there is a recommended minimum fish intake to be healthy. I am sure though that there are some kinds of fish which are good for our health. Fish varieties are not as good to a person as all of them. Some varieties are tagged as the better ones and some are tagged as 'must be avoided' by sickly persons. I am used to having fish in my diet on a daily basis. I believe that fish is always healthier to eat than meat. I still am having my share of meat and poultry products but, i appreciate more fish, vegetables and fruits.

Milkfish - Rich in omega-3 fatty acid
Eat fish rich in omega 3 fatty acid. Salmon is very rich in omega 3 but very expensive so as for me the best alternative is the cheaper and yet rich milkfish or bangus in our native tongue. I don't know what amount should we eat. All you have to just remember is anything in excess is bad. Just eat balance diet. Not just all fish but also vegetables and fruits and other vitamins and minerals needed by your body. Better yet, you consult the food pyramid so that you will be guided accordingly.

I remember my mother telling me about an old woman who only eats fish and not meat and other fatty foods. :P And she looks strong for her age. I think she is 80+.

According to some health experts, a matchbox size of meat protein is enough for our protein requirement, everyday. So, basing on that, you can figure out how much fish we should consume per week to stay healthy.

Fish is lean meat and a good source of protein and its very good to our brain. I think it should be 2 - 3 times a week or depend if you are eating other protein source meat like chicken or pork. Eat all the nutritious food available and watch your diet.
