Ever been in a situation where you felt lost for words or too nervous that you didn't even realize what you are saying? Well, my sister worked in a call center and some of her co-workers have experienced being like that. One time she (my sister's co-worker) wants to put on hold on whoever she was talking on the phone. instead of saying, "Do you mind if I put you on hold?" She said, "Do you mind if I hold you...... By hearing that, my sister held her co-worker's back, as if teasing her co-worker. There was also incidents like saying "Do you like to add some add-ons?" instead of saying "Do you like to add something?" Funny how we sometimes feel nervous specially when it's our first time to work in such industry like that. We sometimes end up laughing for what we have done. Even though we know it can be also embarrassing for us to experience. Too much bloopers, isn't it? How about you, my dear friends, what comedy lines have you done yet or experienced? Please do share them here and let us laugh for a while...

Yes, those things happened in our life. We would feel embarrassed for a time but when we looked back on them we could joke about it. I tried to find one which I experienced but my mind is a blur now. I guess that happened a long time ago that I couldn't remember it...

yes, sharing does bring fun part of life... by doing this we all get to know others as well on what they think or feel and the likes. share their foods or money can be fun also, just as long as no bad things in return of it...

My whole life is made up of comedy lines to the point that no-one (including myself) knows when I am being serious. I love gaffs, especially when it from someone who is normally deadly serious. It makes it all the more fun.

what do you mean by gaffs? i've never heard of that word before... yeah, i guess it's good to have a laugh when someone is really serious for some time. we all need to laugh once in a while to stretch our muscles and forget problems or anything...just have fun...

hi vi! I think it happens all the time! Not only when we are nervous or when at work, I guess it can also happen even in simple conversations...actually it happens many times to me while I'm talking to my husband or sometimes while talking to some friends, even to my parents. There are certain words that we misused that gives a different meaning to what we really meant, sometimes mispronunciation also makes a big difference and can create a good laugh to whom we are talking with. Just like with me, since I am living here in the Visayas region for how many years now, whenever I am in my hometown I sometimes use words that they didn't understand and I just find them laughing on what I said or sometimes I accidentally pronounce words in a different and funny manner...something like that...

Hey sistah, how are you now? it's been a long time since I last hear from you. I hope to see you again in here. well, like you said it can happen anytime, anywhere and to any people in this world. we all can have comedy lines or moments. some just don't share it but of course, most of us do experience funny mistakes it can be interesting, tragic or unforgettable embarrassing moments, some just tend to hide. Yes, like you have there, the language you have lived from where you belong have somehow lost and turned into Visayan dialect, so there are words that can sound funny when you mispronounced it.

You really have such time scanning through my topics huh? It's good to see that you are having fun commenting back on my "not-so-old" topics in here... I even feel like I have to visualize myself how do I feel when I started this topic and now commenting on it once again... ^_^ Yes, it's good to have a laugh specially when you know you are enjoying it and the feeling that you really need to laugh once in a while, specially on not expected events. Sometimes doing acts to make others laugh can be much harder than to see the unexpected ways of making people laugh unintentionally, right? I am also glad to say, I'm still okay...cause the fact that you're there can make me feel better... Thanks for the thought, my dear!

Hi annavi: Oh yes, it has definetly happened to me and it's a little bit embarrasing but it's just normal, we are humans and we make this kind of mistakes regularly. So the best way in my opinion one can deal with these embarrasing situations is trying to make fun of our own mistakes. Actually you are wiser when you loearn to see yourself and smile. ALVARO

you're right there, alvaro! i guess there's no single human who has no embarrassing moment, isn't it? it's just the matter of accepting the fact that we can all commit mistakes and it's just how we accept things like that for us to move on.

This experience had nothing to do with call centers :D Just this morning my office mate and I went to a near by fast food chain for breakfast. Cashier (C): What drinks would you like to go with the meal? Office mate (OM): Coffee please. C: Sorry sir we don't have softdrinks/soda in the morning. We only have pineapple juice, hot choco and coffee. Would you prefer hot choco? OM: *silence* Coffee... *The cashier then left her area to prepare our orders. My OM then looks at me and we laughed together* This was like... Around 9AM?

heheheh, there are incidents like that in our everyday lives. we just simply can't focus on our sayings sometimes. it can be they have lack of sleep or can't focus right. or it can be they are assuming what you are ordering, acting as if they heard softdrinks cause maybe most of their customers are ordering softdrinks. you are just experiencing the normal days for some stores, i can say. it's nice that you shared this though.

lol ;D IT's fun hearing such things happening, especially when customers are on the line.. haha It's alright to have some fun or mistakes like these because we are all humans ,we make mistakes in our speeches. Even presidents needs note to address their citizens, not to mention call center, who's expected to flexible at all times right?? haha

One of the lines that won't fail to make me laugh is when someone who is so used to receiving calls that say "thank you for calling" even if it's them who made the call. One indication that they're call center agents.

Yeah, it's too common for some people to do so. Because like you said, they feel like call center agents and it's like they always do the call. they don't recognize sometimes who does the first call. do you know other funny lines people does?
