The death of my shih tzu kept me away from dog food and dog shampoo for quite a while. I wonder how busy I'll be with Brock, the pitbul...

Hello Toyota4k, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I know how hard it is when a beloved pet has to go. I think it was a wise decision to bring Brock to live with you, I'm sure you were missing your Shih Tzu very much. I admit it will be a little different to take care of a Pitbul instead of a Shih Tzu. They are so different type of dogs! It will be easier with grooming, as Pitbuls don't need regular grooming as Shih Tzus need. But you must get accustomed with the hair loss, because short haired dogs tend to loose hair all through the year. It will also be easier with cleaning and bathing, as the short hair dries more quickly and you won't have to deal with the tangles and the conditioners needed against them. You'll have to get used with the people who are afraid of Pitbuls and don't hesitate do say bad words to you when you walk Brock. In fact, there are persons who don't like large dogs (or not even medium sized dogs!) and they would offend their owners no matter what breed is the dog.

You made me blush, Toyota4k! I am far from being an expert writer, especially that English is not my first language, but I love dogs and I like to discuss about dogs. Have you already brought Brock at home?

Greetings, Brock is well behaved. He got in my jeep upon command and seemed to have enjoyed the 20 kilometer ride home. It's his 5th day at home already and my neighbor's children and friends love to hold him and today they offered me to give him a bath. Cheers, see you around.

Reading your comment was so pleasant. Even for an expert writer like you, I could see how your response was well prepared and I guess you had to edit it once or twice. I am elated in as much as am privileged for having been the addressee especially how you reminded me of having to cope up to what lies ahead. Thank you so much.

I've known Brock since he was two months old, my nephews dog. Though we were miles apart, I would see him as often as once a month. He was my favorite among the dogs at my brothers house until after 7 years, I was happy to take him home because my nephew is busy with his new job.

You adopted a 7 years old pitbul? Not many person would do this! It seems Brock is a lucky boy, isn't he? How did he adapted to his new home?

Well getting a new dog can be a lot of work but it is worth it, I just got a new little pug her name is Pugsley she is the cutest little thing, and I also have a beagle he does pretty good with her she tries to bite him he puts up with her until she bites him then he chases her around and lets her know when to stop

I'm familiar to names and breed of dogs since I go around visiting friends and relatives just so to see their dogs. Lately my cousin introduced his 3 month old male pug. "She's lovely." he said, though one thing he dislikes, "it never smiles despite the food and all the best treatment I give her."
