I have already heard 'hotel california' song. The lyrics has its meaning. It goes something like there is odd going on in 'hotel california'. Something like a ritual going inside the hotel. A satanic ritual or whatever. The composers created this song and I was thinking if it is because this person has actually experience being victimize by the people inside the hotel? -- or he just invented those lyrics without any reason at all? What can you say about this lyrics? Is it real? Someone told me not to listen to this song because it is made by devil. I do not know if she is just being judgmental or she said those words without any reason at all. Hotel California ... ... ... There she stood in the doorway; I heard the mission bell And I was thinking to myself, 'this could be heaven or this could be hell' Then she lit up the candle and she showed me the way There were voices down the corridor, I thought I heard them say... CHORUS: Welcome to the hotel california Such a lovely place Such a lovely face Plenty of room at the hotel california Any time of year, you can find it here ... ... ... Mirrors on the ceiling, The pink champagne on ice And she said 'we are all just prisoners here, of our own device' And in the master's chambers, They gathered for the feast The stab it with their steely knives, But they just can't kill the beast Last thing I remember, I was Running for the door I had to find the passage back To the place I was before 'relax,' said the night man, We are programmed to receive. You can check out any time you like, But you can never leave! ...you can google the lyrics if you want. I am just curious.

It's a very hard song to interpret, and my boyfriend actually took a class where he had to. "Hotel California" is one of those songs that kind of speaks about the afterlife. You don't know what it's really like or what you are really getting into.

Okay, well Don Henley would be the authority on that, so I'm not going to argue that meaning.

According to Don Henley, " It's a song about the dark underbelly of the American Dream, and about excess in America which was something we knew about". http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=1121

It's a satanic song. If you will read between the lines you will know that there is double meaning. Hotel California stands for hell. So as for me I suggest to people not to listen to that song. It is one of those satanic songs that have gained popularity. I don't know if those who patronize this song is aware of the real message of this song.

The song is offering a metaphoric key to understand hedonistic style of years '70's in States. Tough the reference to 1969 (the Woodstock festival) since all kept going down and worse instead of start doing better and cleaner ...
