Today is the 26th International Coastal Clean-up day. We joined the number of students, civic and non civic groups, gos and ngos and all concerned individual who joined the clean-up activities. The area we cleaned was really so full of debris, dirt, trash and all kind of coastal enemies. We were able to clean about a kilometer stretch of the bay and and more in other parts of the country. Did you join the clean-up day. My wish is that clean up of the coastal and all our natural resources be done not only on a yearly basis but on a continuing basis.

Great way to really make a difference. I have helped many years and really feel good knowing the area cleaned looks so much better. I'm always happy to hear others care also.

Thanks for the response. It is the first time I joined this activity and for sure I will do it every now and then. Our coastal areas need cleaning as most of our livelihood activities are dependent on clean coastal for firshermen as well as for boat activities and for beaches cleaning for our domestic and foreign tourists.

Hi bagumbayan! Our office also conducts coastal clean-ups. I just don't know if the division in-charged of it conducted one today. So I was not able to join any coastal clean-ups this year. Last year I was also not able to join one because I did not know the schedule. But I like joining in such events because it's a fun activity and you get to help the environment. This kind of activity should regularly be conducted in Metro Manila. It's badly needed there. Not just annually, but I think monthly. That way, the garbage load of the place will lessen.

Thanks for the response. Its the firt time I joined this kind of activity and I think it is really necessary. During the meeting on this event I suggested that it should not only be done on a yearly basis but on a monthly or even weekly basis. But internationally it is a yearly event.
