The past 4 years of my life was like a roller coaster. Now I'm 34 and almost broke. I am very stressed most days and depressed as well. With little money every month. No house. Just living in a rented room or apartment. There is no life about that. There are times I would like to end this misery. Maybe one day not to wake up. Maybe just forget about everything. But that's life, right? Life is about struggles and escaping them. It's like if you survive for 80 or more years, 80% of that are struggles. That's based on my statistics. Maybe more or less. In the next few days, I will entering my 35th year. I don't know what kind of year is coming. I cannot predict but who does anyway? No one can predict the future until you are there. I would like to believe that there is something better coming. I would like to experience the best years of my life. The 20% of my existence in this world. So far 80% is like struggles and pain. I wonder how many other people out there with the same situation. And how they handle depression in their lives? But definitely, depression is a killer. If you let if kill you.

One financial adviser says "If you are broke, you don't have to stay that way." You just have to find ways to reduce your spending and add some source of income. Being a member of mylot is a good source of second income.

I want to congratulate you for having your own home. Your house doesn't have to have expensive materials. At least you can call it home. Thank you for welcoming me at mylot.

I am sorry to hear that you having a tough time for the past 4 years until now. I really pity that you have financial problems as well. I am also a depress woman and I will be 30 the next 2 days. So far my life isn't better since 14 years ago. But I hope the future is still a good one as what we hope. I have seek medium to help me as I am a chinese but depression occur to anyone regardless of race. I never felt better yet but like you I am hoping for the 20% or more to come true. I hope you pray to God for help because he is the mightiest. He can help. Put your trust in God. I also do that too.

I am very sorry that things have not turned out so great for you, but you're not even half way through your life yet so there's lots that you can do to turn things around. If you do have access to a computer, then seriously, the internet is an absolutely amazing way that you can earn money online without having to work strict hours. You can just put a little bit of time into it whenever you have some spare, and I am sure that you would be able to earn enough to be able to turn your life around in no time at all.

I struggle with depression all the time. I see a counselor, and that helps. I know counselors are sometimes very expensive. I have medical insurance though, and she takes my insurance. I only see her every other week, and I wish I saw her more often. But it really does help. Sometimes if you don't have a counselor it's good to have a close friend you can talk to. It really helps to have someone who listens and cares. Also there are self-help books that sometimes give tactics for dealing with depression, for adjusting your thinking so you feel better. When I feel really depressed sometimes I make a list of all the things in my life I'm grateful for. It sounds corny, and stupid, but actually works a bit – usually I feel better. I start out by listing the fact that I have a roof over my head, that I'm not hungry all the time, and that I have a wonderful cat. Then I talk about my books, my friends, etc.… All the things that make me happy. And it helps. I hope these suggestions help you. It's terrible to be depressed and I hope you feel better soon. I'm really sorry you're going through this.

Thank you for the wonderful message. The first time I do when I open Internet is to search about how to get away this depression. I cannot afford to hire a counselor or something like that, that's the reason why I come to cafe and search the Internet. I understand it is better to seek professional help. However, there is non in my hometown and if there is, it is probably expensive. Thank you again.

You feel that at 34 and I do at 19!!!! One of the most successful people in the world have faced such circumstances. Take for example Steve Jobs. He had no money so didn't complete his education. He worked for little money, slept at dorm floors and would go to temples for food. And well, the rest is history. All you can do is get up, dust yourself off and start afresh. If you want you can reach there.
