Hey all! Im about to start a three year degree and have three subjects to study in the first year, I am hoping to be a social worker, so two of the subjects i am studying are Social Policy and Sociology, however I am undecided as to what my third subject will be. I am stuck between Economics and Anthropology. Has anyone any experience or advice on either of these subjects. thanks

It depends on various factors. If you like Anthropology more, then you might want to take that. If you could take electives, then you might want to take Econs as an elective subject. In the event you decide that you no longer want to be a social worker (whether it's immediately after college or years down the road), then what do you plan to work as? That might help you make your decision. If you choose Anthropology, it might limit your career choices. On the other hand, if you choose Econs, you could work in a bank as a bank officer. You could also work as an economist. Or you could work as an Econs teacher in a high school. Or you could even work as an economic policy officer in the public sector. Ultimately, the subjects you take in college will have some kind of bearing on your career choices in future.
