The Tutor in Me

Teaching is my passion. I love to teach, literally teaching inside the classroom. I feel so happy when I see students understand what I say and it is an additional bonus when I see them graduate and pass the board exam. Now that my daughter is in the elementary grades, I am her own tutor. I spend time to teach or review her lessons. So far, my efforts paid off for she is the top 5 of her class.

That is what teaching is all about. I'm glad you are able to utilize that to your own kid as well.

Good for you! I believe teaching is a calling: Not everyone can teach. I remember being in classrooms of some very intelligent instructors who were unable to pass on knowledge to their students. I am however saddened to know most teachers make very little income. I do not understand how we can pay athletes or entertainers millions, but do not care for financial well-being of the people making our tomorrow.

I also like to teach.I taught for 8 months in an IT college and it was a fun experience. There's this bliss you feel when you're students get what you're saying and they are able to apply what you taught them.

Hello dorisday1971, Yes teaching is fun but teachers aren't paid well especially in private sector. For example English tutorial, the teachers aren't compensated well and they're exploited their knowledge but the compensation isn't enough. In addition most of the Filipinos managers in private business don't follow the proper COL. They are making their own policy and most of the time not giving the proper benefit for their employee. That makes be sick and tired because I'm now working in a private company.

I think that being able to teach is something that you should be very proud of indeed. If you are able to pass on some of your knowledge to the next generation of young people, then you can safely say that you are helping for the human race to continue and stay as strong as they are at the moment. Any young people who are able to get talented teachers are lucky because it means that their education will be made a lot easier than it would have been if they'd had less talented teachers. You should be proud of the fact that your student is being able to reach such high standards.

That's wonderful! She is very lucky to have someone to help her so much. I like helping my girls too. I think I would like teaching and have thought about changing my major a couple of times. I have been going back to school now for a couple of years and I have had an option as to what I wanted my degree to be in. I am in Business management but there are alot of similar classes where I could go the other way if I wanted. I can't change it after March though...it's all in then.
