Finding hard to find interesting topics?

Hey, I have not been active, but this weekend, I thought about making some cents. But I am finding it hard to continue discussions. I find interesting discussions, I reply, but find no comments on it, so it is closed. Don't you guys think it would be fun if the discussion starter comments on all replies? Okay, I did not want to write this, but mylot earnings are not much per post, and so you need to post a lot but if the discussion becomes stagnant, you can't do anything but find some other. I really wished that the discussions are actually continued like discussions. Please, if you do start a discussion, take out the time to comment on the replies.

I fully agree with you. If you start a discussion it is only polite to comment on every reply, even if it is something that you disagree with. I thing some of the reasons why people don't do this is time constraits, not knowing what to put, not understanding the reply or that they just can't be bothered. I've started some discussions and only had a hand full of replies so I find it very demotivating to start another discussion.

This is the same reason am not starting new discussions and that is less replies. As about comments, they started discussion here to earn and they do earn for commenting on replies so what stops them? Can't think of what to write? No comments make the discussion dull and it doesn't really remain a discussion.

But if you start a discussion and only have one reply, which you reply to but get no reply back, what can you do? It looks a bit daft when you yourself end up posting a few comments to try and get people interested.

No , that is not the point, you comment back, your job is done. But some people don't even do that so they kill their own discussion.

I don't start too many discussions, but the ones I start, I really want to respond to all responses. But there are times when I don't know what to respond, so I leave it like it is, without writing just thanks for responding. And there are times that Mylot doesn't send out the notification that somebody has commented back on a response. Otherwise, I always try my best to continue a discussion a lot, as it is easier, it is more fun, it brings more revenue and maybe you become friends with those who are responding a lot, as you get to know more about the other one. So, I think it is good to answer to every single response or comment, but only if you are able to write meaningful content.

I think you can sign up to email notifications on when someone comments on your discussion. I've not signed up to anything like this as I don't want a mass influx of emails when I already get too many!

I didn't reply to a comment I received in one of my discussions because frankly I couldn't understand it. It was written in poor English so was hard to read and things he mentioned didn't make much sense either. The only thing I could have responded with was something along the lines of, 'What do you mean? Your poor English and incorrect grammer has made you comment incoherrent', but I didn't want to sound like I was lecturing them so I choose to not comment.

Yes, this happens a few times with every member, I believe. It is better not to comment then, because I don't want to hurt the other one. Maybe after a time, after using mylot more, the members who don't know too much English will improve and will be able to write meaningful comments. P.S. Do you get a notification from mylot every time somebody gives a response or comments on your response?

Its always good to see if the discussion starter is himself active on the discussion started by him but never the less if he is not active we can comment on other post and let the discussion grow we can always comment anywhere we like and get the discussion going on

It seldom happens that way. But yep, other people can also grow someone else's discussion but there is a limit to which you can help. It is the starter that should do the same.

Well, if you think that way, then you are right. But that is the part I actually wanted to remove, I wanted to post for fun, and there is no fun if the discussion starter himself is not posting. Agree? If other people comment on your post, it does increase communication but then would you comment on all the replies of someone else's discussion? As about "you write you earn and i write i earn" , this is what makes it dull for me to post on mylot. If it was not that way, and discussions remained as discussions and the starters did interact by commenting and telling how was the view of the replier, don't you think it would be much better? You won't have to drive yourself to post more. And the earnings would come automatically. It would be better for mylot, for users and everyone in general.

hi akshay What limit ??? would you share there is no help according to me to the discussion starter if we are active on his discussion the rule in mylot is you write you earn and i write i earn so even if we discuss whole day in other user discussion we are not helping him in any way we just help the topic this is what i think

Well, I try to do my best, but discussions must have interesting topics to get replies. My mind is not always that brilliant to create new ones. So why don't you try to reply to more discussions, replies, or start new ones.

My point was, that the person who starts a discussion should also comment on a reply. I do reply to many discussions but when there are no comment son it, it doesn't remain a discussion, does it? I am not asking anyone to start 10 discussions but only start 1 to which you can give your time and comment. You do earn for commenting if am not wrong.

Yep, I also seldom start new discussions. But when we do we should remember to get back to it and read the replies, and comment on them.

I got your point, what I meant is that I'm not always in the mood to start new discussions. So I comment a lot. Actually it doesn't matter, one get paid for all activities here. Even doing tasks and using the search engine.

The one thing I do think about is the time element. You are right that are posts that can be more like posts than discussions. I suspect there are many factors that determine why this is so. I notice that there is sometimes a time lag. What I mean is in my case,I log on and see an interest and post to it. I might then get busy with another aspect of my life. I do need to follow up by looking for discussion I have been involved in or have started at a later date. The fact is that might take a while and there will be a time lag to get back to that discussion. In the meantime, things could have changed, people might be disinterested or on to other things, themselves. Combine this with the fact that I am totally disorganized and sometimes can not remember my name, let alone what I've been talking about. What was the topic again?
