Rating vs. Reputation CONFUSING!?

I keep getting confused with "rating" and "reputation". I went to the FAQ and "rating" refers to the numbers beside your name that show the level of a user's activity on myLot... and "reputation" refers to the star beside your name. Why isn't the star your rating, since it has everything to do with ratings. And the "reputation" the numbers? It's so confusing!

Nothing is simple on myLot We have to work hard to get things right but eventually it does sink in

It just doesn't make sense to me. It seems like it would make more sense the other way around!

I suppose... but it would be easier if it made sense. lol MyLot and it's uniqueness and mysteries...and "algorithms"... pfft!

In fact, these two matters makes me quite confusing although i had been here for quite a long time...Maybe because i was too busy reading those discussions and never pay serious attention to them. At least, you have start this discussion and had cleared this matter now. Will give you more pushes, my friend....

ahah yeah its confusing, and well i do not even know how my star would go up or down, as i am not able to keep track of it myself, honestly speaking. So well i just am concentrating on posting and creating discussions for my earnings!

Don't feel alone on this, I have been here for years and confuse them all the time. Just takes time and repeating things over and over to get them to sink in. That will be my goal this week here to get the terminology down. Test on Friday?

i just put it down here as well because i wanted to make sure i explained it properly! reputation is, how well you are rated. like what your reputation is. like if someone had a reputation in your town to be a "bad boy" stuff like that?? as in do you have a good reputation, and a good mylotter, ie - star number goes up.. or are you a baddddd mylotter - star goes down. and then ratings, are like.. tv ratings. like tv shows. the more people watch it etc. so if a show got 2 million viewers, that shows ratings were 2 million. so at this moment in time, your mylot rating is 340 :) .. there :) get it now sweets?
