Have you ever lost a pet?

This is very difficult to talk about so soon but I'm going to try because I need some advice. I lost my 15 month old baby bunny Kiara two days ago.. and there was nothing at all anyone could have done for her.. so we had to end her suffering and the vet put her to sleep. It came as no surprise that I completely broke down whilst in there. As I listened to the vet slowly talk toward telling me it didn't look good, I immediately knew it was all going downhill and I just lost it. Now, I'm still utterly devasted because I miss her terribly and there isn't anyway in which I can get her out of my head. I don't really want to either, but the sadness is not dying down. I want to remember all the good times I had with her, to remember all the happy memories. But, at the moment I'm unable to do so because the slightest thought of her reminds me she is no longer here and it depresses me for hours and hours. Have you ever lost a pet? All I want to know is.. how did you cope? Was there anything in particular that helped you through such a tough time? I really need help with this :(

Mitzy :( what was your bunny's name? And I had another shih-tzu who was all silver and about 5 pounds, she was beautiful. I went to camp, and when I came back, I found out she got ran over. It was horrible!

Mitzy is a gorgeous name :) My bunny's name was Kiara.. I'm so sorry to hear about your other shih-tzu :( it's so horrible losing a pet and knowing there's nothing you could have done for them. I made a promise to myself after losing Kiara.. I'm never going to put myself through it again so I'm avoiding pets entirely now.

I have lost my dog when I was young. We had a neighbor and I think he had his hands on it. He always said bad thing about my dog and one day we couldn't find him.

I understand what it is to loose an animal. I think that you have to not go to fast on getting another animal it takes a bit to heal from any lost.I don't mean you have to wait ages but take your time. And one day you'll feel that your ready. take care.
