Cool! I am a computer enthusiast as well. Well the other guy has a point. More likely, most current motherboards that support core i7 has ddr 3, also ddr 3 is much cheaper than getting old ddr 2, because memory modules such as ram tend to become more expensive as they get older, become phased out and obviously no more supply, thus becoming ridiculously expensive that newer and faster modules. Anyway, you should get at least 2gb but I highly recommend getting 4gb to 8gb, if you can afford it and settle for an nvidia or ati card that has a fast video ram, because it's not always about how big is the video ram, example an nvidia card with 512 mb (ddr3 video ram) will perform better than cards with 1gb video ram (ddr 2). :(, I want to build a fast computer also but I don't have the money, well one reason also is I don't play games anymore, that's why I don't really need a very fast computer at the moment.

Well i explained why i need a ddr2 ram..anyways i'll look over into ddr3 and i have the same problems that you are having now i can't even play high graphics games on my p.c that is why i am fed up of it and finally decided to upgrade my pc. I hope ddr3 is even cheaper

ddr3 is way more cheaper than ddr2 and in terms of data transfer speed, it out performs ddr2 especially if you match it up with an Intel Core processor.
