So....what's new with "earning with a blog?" front?

So for the past 5 years or so, I have done blogs hoping to earn money from them. Haven't. I know about Adsense and Affiliates as income. So far...nothing there either. I know that traffic is the MAIN thing you have to have to earn anything in the first place. I haven't been doing much with my blogs this year but now having started quilting again... I'd like to start one about that and use things to earn something while at it. I know I can put Adsense there. but that is only creditable if someone clicks on the ad. Do you click on adsense ads when you read blogs? I don't. Don't think I ever have. Kind of like I found out what I wanted to know in their blog and didn't need to go any where else. I know that I can put affiliates on there...but finding them is another problem. I am with SHare Results and another one...but again....I never look at those when I am on a blog as again.. I found what I needed in the blog and I am not an online shopper/buyer. So....what's new with "earning with a blog?" front?
