Some people say that if you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you are already saved and nothing can take that salvation from you...

I do not believe that once saved always saved. We have to continually work at our relationship with God. Just because an individual may have come into a dedicated state or as others say have accepted Jesus as their savior doesn't mean that they are always saved. Matthew 24:13 Revised Standard Version, Second Edition says: "He who endures to the end will be saved." So a person's final salvation is not determined at the moment that he or she begins to put faith in Jesus. Philippians 2:12 RS says: "As you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." Paul urged these ones not to be overly confident but to realize that their final salvation was not yet assured.
