It's been a bout amonth and a half since I dropped of my son at college. He is a freshman. I call him every day just to hear his voice sometimes not really talking about any thing specific but just to call. He is definitely more of a yes/no reponse type.

I went away for college too and my mom constantly called me. If you want the conversation to be more meaningful and sincere then I think you should call him less. Calling him once a week like during Sunday will be enough. I know you miss here and want to hear his voice and stuff but there will come a time that he will grow tired of you constantly calling. I know that sounds bad but he is a guy and in college so you know...
