If I want to improve my command in ‘general knowledge’ which is indeed very poor in me, can you suggest some sites that would help me to serve the purpose? Can you also explain some ways that would be helpful to me?

DoctorDidi, You'll have to forgive me, but I find it really strange that anyone can set out to improve their command in "general knowledge," as you put it. What is "general knowledge"? Is it a special field of study? You will realize, of course, that I ask this rhetorically. My point is that if you are curious about any particular thing, you will seek out information on that thing. Having read it, that will then be part of your knowledge. If you are a really curious person, you will be reading up on many things, and before you know it, you will have accumulated general knowledge. So, don't set out with the ambition to improve your general knowledge. Set out simply to read on whatever interests you. Gradually your interests will widen as one thing will lead to another. No doubt you will be receiving plenty of responses as to which sites are good, so I won't bother taking up more of your time.

The most basic way to improve knowledge is to keep on learning a few things in one day , suppose you can decide that you have to learn at least 5 new things in one day, you search from here and there different topics and you can then surely learn a few new things daily.....

That is a good way, not ot try and learn two many facts at a time or esle you will forget things.

Read newspapers as they have lots of general knowledge in them, another good way which is really good is to watch lots of quiz shows on the telly, its surprising what you can pick up from them. My children have learnt more general knowlege from them than I ever thought they would. Hope this helps you.

General knowledge is such a broad look on knowledge itself. There is no way to improve general knowledge perse, but you would have to basically be in school to learn various things. But, on the internet, if you want to learn, try using Wikipedia. It is basically an online encyclopedia. You could type in what ever it is that you want to get information on and learn from it. I don;t know what else to say.

I believe, the simplest way is: just read some newspapers, magazines, or so. They always provide new things from much interests. new things from much interests? Do you realize that being active in myLot can also improve your general knowledge? Just being active in several interests, you will get much general knowledge..

The only way I can think you might improve your general knowledge is by taking an interest in everything. Most people learn about the area they are interested in, experts know increasingly more and more about less and less but those truly great figures in history have been passionately interested in a wide range of subjects; Leonardo Da Vinci being a prime example. Read widely, especially beginners guides to subjects. Give instruction to a wise man and he will become yet wiser all the best urban
